Hello, I’m Brad.

At the intersection of classical wisdom and contemporary thought, I work as an editor, consultant, and scholar specializing in political philosophy, religious studies, and cultural criticism. My research bridges medieval Islamic thought with Western philosophical traditions, while my consulting practice focuses on helping organizations articulate their missions and build meaningful donor relationships.

As Editor-in-Chief of Athwart and an editor for various publications and writers, I cultivate spaces for nuanced dialogue at the intersection of philosophy, politics, and culture. My editorial mind extends beyond publishing to strategic consulting, where I help think tanks and educational institutions develop their research and philanthropic initiatives, and public relations, where I help clients develop their work and gain recognition.

My own scholarship focuses on natural law theory, medieval Islamic philosophy, and the contemporary applications of both. Currently completing concurrent master’s degrees in Philosophy and Theology at Berkeley’s Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology, my thesis examines natural law and solar imagery in Plato’s Laws. This research builds on my experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Morocco, where I taught at Université Moulay Ismaïl while studying Arabic and researching Islamic political thought.

On the side, I like to think about art, film, and music.

Current Work

My work spans three main areas:

Recent public work include analyses of Turkish foreign policy, Moroccan religious influence, and philosophical interpretations of Platotonic and Thomistic natural lawin venues such as Current Trends in Islamist Ideology and a Vatican-sponsored conference at the Angelicum.

I have received fellowships from Hudson Institute, American Enterprise Institute, Thomistic Institute, Institute for Human Ecology, and Providence.
